LeaderPod: Parenthood and Work

Leading change for a more inclusive and sustainable future

OVERVIEW:

In today’s dynamic workplace, parents face unique challenges as they balance career ambitions with caregiving responsibilities. Parenthood and work, while often viewed as opposing forces, are in fact interconnected aspects of modern life that, when supported, can enhance personal, professional, and organizational success. Yet today, many workplaces continue to remain ill-equipped to meet the evolving needs of parents and caregivers, often contributing to attrition due to systems and policies that impede growth and exacerbate outdated biases.

This six-week program is designed to equip parents, leaders and organizations with the tools and knowledge to create a more inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for working parents while practicing techniques that will enhance overall personal well being.

Meeting weekly in a virtual setting, participants will:

  • Build Self Awareness (Personality Assessment DiSC will be administered)

  • Understand the business case for change and why we must support working parents

  • Challenge the trade-off mindset by embracing the four domains of career, family, self, and community

  • Build meaningful goals based on core values and impact

  • Learn strategies to build cultures of care and connection at home, at work, and in our communities.

  • Break down gendered norms and take action toward more equitable environments.

Through individual and collaborative exercises, group learning, ample resources, and goal development frameworks, participants will gain the tools, insights, and support needed to lead meaningful change at work and at home.

KEY OUTCOMES:

By the end of the six weeks, participants will have the tools, insights, and strategies to create workplaces that value parenthood as an asset not a liability and learn individual techniques for personal well being.
